MCDONALDS AVATAR PROMOTION
OVERVIEW
As the CD/ACD I quarterbacked and oversaw the creation of an out-of-this-world promotional site for the movie Avatar and McDonalds. I managed a team of creatives, worked with animators and developers overseeing every aspect of the project from the site design, game design, logic of the game and animation. It was the largest global online marketing launch in the history of McDonalds. The site launched in 17 languages and 31 countries around the world. The application included a hidden object game, augmented reality and driving a moon rover. The game was closely tied with promotional codes at McDonalds to unlock all levels of the experience.
The interface was built in flash and through animation was brought to life. There are many subtle animations, sound effects, music that truly made it one of the most immersive web site experiences ever built. You felt as though you were experiencing the world of Avatar.

Users had to search a 360 degree world filled with the sounds of Pandora and find hidden objects to complete the level. The interface pulsated and glowed as woodsprites animated about.
